Junior Financial Analyst

Culmen International, LLC is seeking a full-time junior financial analyst  who will work in a Program Management Office (PMO) for a global logistics contract in support of a key Department of Defense customer.  The successful candidate must be an independent thinker, detail oriented, and willing to learn an international program with complex financial transactions.  The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner, and work well in a diverse team environment across various cultures and time zones.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with corporate financial team on invoicing and reconciliation for task order contract line item numbers (CLINS), and sub-contract line item numbers (SLINS), vendors and subcontractors, including invoicing support for unbilled cost, accruals, and on-hold cost;
  • Provide analyses of financial data, identify problems, recommend solutions.
  • Develop and/or analyze program financial revenue projection and variance analysis;
  • Track project costs by multiple funding lines allocated across regional, country and project accounts and fiscal years (appropriation);
  • Allocate costs accurately to event specific control accounts and/or charge codes;
  • Prepare, review and revise documents, spreadsheets and briefings;
  • Implements financial policies and procedures in support of assigned projects;
  • Generates reports for customer and internal review;
  • Makes recommendations for process improvement;
  • Establishment and maintenance of cost/schedule baselines and variance analyses;
  • Conducts wire transfers, as needed.
  • Utilize company IT systems to update transactions and incorporate/amend actuals

Experience and Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in business or finance or economics;
  • Three to five (1-2) years of relevant work experience in financial management/control of U.S. Government contracts;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a large volume of quantitative data;
  • Organized with exceptional attention to detail while handling multiple assignments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiar with Excel.
  • Familiar with commercial wire transfer systems

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or working with USG foreign assistance programs/initiatives
  • Experience using Cost Point
  • Knowledgeable with all types of contracts
