About the Role
Job Description
The Aviation Exercise Designer reports to and receives work direction from the
Project Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
On-site work performance in support of TECOM/USMC Programs relating to JNTC enhancements to collective and unit training exercises and pre-deployment training
Act as USMC JNTC Exercise Designer(s), and coordinate service efforts for JNTC interoperability and exercise planning/design through JNTC-event execution phases
Use defined USMC training objectives and the appropriate level of “joint context” as determined through the JNTC Accreditation/Certification process
Conduct post-JNTC Event assessment and analysis, capturing and formatting all empirical data, and lessons learned
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described

Qualifications
Education
BA/BS degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
Attended Professional Military Education appropriate to rank at time of separation or retirement from the uniformed service.
Experience
Fifteen (15) years of experience working in and around military organizations.
Experience working on a staff
Understanding of MAGTF Operations with a focus on the role of Aviation forces
Ideal candidate: Former US Marine Corps (USMC) officer with a ground combat arms or aviation background (US Army or other Service experience acceptable with strong qualifications).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communications and presentation skills.
Have a working knowledge of the Marine Corps Planning Process.
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office
Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment.
Additional information
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
Daily travel in the local area during the workday (including use of personal vehicle).
Ability to obtain or have a security clearance.
Required to perform work in connection with a covered contract and, therefore, must comply with Safer Federal Workforce standards.
Skillbridge Internships will be considered.
Anticipated Date of Availability: October
Requires 5% - 10% travel.
