Company Description
The Community Veteran Justice Project, CVJP, WWW.CVJP.ORG, helps all who served in the military get diversion, comprehensive services for long-term success. More than an intervention, CVJP provides a solution.
CVJP provides specific services, policy advocacy, and community education to assist justice-involved service members/veterans as soon as they get arrested. When a veteran is arrested it can be overwhelming, and sometimes trigger spiraling down into homeless, suicide, incarceration, without intervention. CVJP provides the intervention that turns that into success.

About the Role

Job Description: Obtaining Diversified Sustainable Funding-all sources possible
• Develop Strategic Plan, maintain and update accordingly;
• Find grants, apply for grants, maintain grant tracker;
• Cultivate donors (corporate donors, major donors, all kinds of donors);
• Build donor database;
• Facilitate fundraising;
• Assist in CVJP Projects as needed, grants, board, outreach campaigns, etc.
• Assist CVJP marketing, outreach, social media, podcasts, media (articles, tv, radio, publications,) raising CVJP’s profile

Requirements 

Education and Qualifications:
• College degree, advanced degree preferred
• Must be an experienced fundraiser with documented donor and fundraising experience;
• Knowledge of and skills to find grants, ability to effectively write grants, develop effective relationships with funders.
• Grant writing experience, great writing ability, evidence-based knowledge
• Public appearances: TV, radio, podcasts, events, presentations, public speaking, social media
• Military experience preferred. (Veteran, spouse of a veteran, adult child of a veteran) strongly preferred
• Public event experience, public speaking experience, community outreach experience, Strong networking experience, relationship building experience
• Love people, networking, ability to ask for money/donations
• Must be able to drive a vehicle and travel throughout Los Angeles.
