MEMBER AT LARGE - WWR REP (BILL PETERS)

Mr. Bill Peters grew up in Long Island and graduated from St Anthony’s High School in Smithtown, NY before spending over 20 years in the US Marine Corps, primarily in infantry command and training billets.

Entering the Corps after graduation from Xavier University in 1968, Mr. Peters fought in Vietnam and was a platoon commander at OCS and The Basic School before being selected to attend Amphibious Warfare School. He then served as the CO of Hotel, BLT 2/6 during the 1973 Mid-East War and as the CO of India BLT ¾ in WEST PAC. From 1977-1980 he was the I & I for G 2/25 and trained at 29 Palms, Vieques, and Alaska.

After a tour as the Assistant Mobilization Officer at HQMC and at the Ground Combat Branch, Quantico, Mr. Peters became the XO of 9th Motors in 1985 and finished his career at Quantico as the Program Coordinator for the Corps’ Robotic Program, retiring in 1989. He has received numerous awards during his military career and was selected as Quantico’s “Mr. Mom” while a single parent to his children, Jenn and Scott.

Mr. Peters received his Master of Arts from Montclair State University in NJ and is state qualified to teach 5 subjects. In addition, he has been selected to “Who’s Who In American Colleges and Universities”.

Mr. Peters has over fifteen years experience designing, formally delivering, evaluating, and managing New Equipment Training (NET), industry and military training programs, curriculum development, and military platform instruction in traditional and nontraditional settings. He has been member of the MEA for over 20 years.
