Colonel Barett Byrd retired in October 2006 after 30 years of service as both an enlisted Marine and commissioned officer. He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Gould and Associates Global Services, Inc.

Gould Global is a Professional Services company specializing in Program Management, Integrated Logistics Services, Contract Logistics Services, Supply Chain Management, International Operations and Classified Program Support. Gould Global also provides personalized consulting services and contract professional and technical personnel services. Their firm has extensive experience in defense, automotive and the telecommunications industries with personnel supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and commercial programs in both the United States and overseas.

Barett received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics and International Marketing from the University of Arkansas via the USMC College Degree Program. He earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University where he concurrently served as a Commandant of the Marine Corps Fellow and Visiting Scholar to the Mershon Center for International Security and Public Policy. He has earned a Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management from Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal School of Business, Center for Supply Chain Research. He is a former faculty member of the National Defense University Industrial College of the Armed Forces where he taught National and Military Strategy along with Strategic Logistics.

He is a Life Member of the MEA and several other national veteran organizations.
