Purpose of Position
Under minimal supervision ensures publicly available data is used to inform and propel continuous
improvement and progress to fulfill the goals established by the El Paso Collaborative for Academic
Retrieves publicly available data via the Educate Texas data warehouse or directly from sources to
support EPCAE work.
Analyzes data using statistical methods to glean useful insights for the EPCAE board, data council,
action networks as well as other local and statewide audiences.
Collaborates with Educate Texas Dallas Office of Insights and Analytics to improve proprietary data
Identifies EPCAE data needs; create and execute strategies to retrieve this data from other sources.
Communicates data findings and their relevance in written data reports and oral presentations.
Designs and produce the EPCAE Scorecard, Annual Report, and Community Reports by updating the
data, constructing a narrative, and writing content.
Synthesizes data analysis into clear, visually appealing materials for Action and Advisory Group needs.
Leads the EPCAE Data Council, including planning overall strategy, facilitating meetings, and engaging
members of the group.
Presents EPCAE progress and learnings to external audiences, including funders and peers at local,
state, and national conferences.
Builds strong and collaborative relationships with professional and community leaders.
Promotes an image of a high-quality organization through expertise and responsiveness.
Participates in various committees, professional trainings, conferences or conventions.
Works closely with Assistant Vice President for Outreach and Student Access.
Travels to project sites depending on project needs.
Maintains a high degree of confidentially on all sensitive information.
Knowledges of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Bachelor’s Degree and Two years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities;
or equivalence combination of education and experience. Training in developing and analyzing
institutional databases, which facilitate internal and external reporting.
Master’s degree in a relevant field and 5 years of experience related to EPCAE mission statement,
gathering publicly available educational data, usage of statistical software, communicating to an
audience of diverse demographics, engaging in complex project management, demonstrating problem
solving abilities to resolve issues with strategic partners.
