JOB TITLE:      CONTINGENT – S-V80-A Field Training Instructor

 

SUMMARY: The Field Training Instructor will conduct course instruction, course administration to include completing student training reports and forms, and logistical, operational and administrative activities for SERE academics, field training, and resistance training.

WORK LOCATION:  Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB), WA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o          Provide resistance training requirements in accordance with (IAW) all applicable documents

o          Conduct all aspects of classroom, laboratory, and field training instruction.

o          Provide instruction in all aspects of field training and technical training (i.e. personal protection, sustenance, sanitation and hygiene, navigation, signaling practices and personnel recovery TTP’s).

o          Instruct in the use of maps, compasses, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and have a working knowledge in the use of communication, signaling and recovery devices.

o          Operate under austere conditions in mountainous locations.

o          Perform the validation of training, syllabi, and instructor guides for academic and operational SERE training aids and presentations for instructors.

o          Perform management, training, and instructor certification functions during on-base laboratory and field training operations.

o          Track, maintain, and update training logs, student handouts, and note taking guides.

o          Provide their own rations during Field Training evolutions.

o          Transportation to the field training sites will be provided by the Government, however contractor personnel are authorized to use personal vehicles at their own expense and risk for transportation to the field, if desired and approved by the 22 TRS/CC or designee.

o          The Government will bear no responsibility for contractor personnel who use personal vehicles for transportation to the field.

o          Provide an appropriate camouflage uniform, in a pattern matching the Government’s field uniform with an aircrew style name patch (ASNP) that distinguishes contractors from the active duty force.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience/Education

•          Must meet one of the following qualifications:

o          Must be an USAF Course S-V81-A, SERE Specialist Technical Training graduate

o          Must be a graduate of a DoD Level-C Code of Conduct course and must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience instructing at a Level-C Code of Conduct course or suitable related experience

•          Qualified to provide instruction for training IAW course syllabi for the functional areas of the courses they are responsible for supporting.

•          Must be able to pass an initial Government approved HF Evaluation administered by the assigned Resistance Training (RT) Qualified SERE psychologist.

o          This evaluation is based in the standards of practice of DoD RT psychologists and Joint Personnel Recovery Agency. The initial evaluation will include psychological testing, a clinical interview, review of records (if available), and collateral contacts

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must possess and maintain an active Secret level clearance.

TRAVEL: May be required to travel in support of assigned functions.
